EP85 - People Trafficking

Somehow we open the show with a party political broadcast with Pete begging people to take UKIP seriously and realise the threat they pose. Apple are making sure you only run their approved hardware by disabling TRIM on 3rd party SSD's but Pete couldn't care less as he dosen't use their isolationist software.

Matt tells us how a 5 year old has passed Microsoft's MCP exam and we mull over whether the exam is too easy, the lad was coached till the answers was burnt on his brain or maybe he's just a clever bugger.

Unless you've living under a rock you'll have heard about the first crowd funded Open Source Tablet. Matt is not overly impressed and says that by the time you get your grubby hands on one the hardware will be out of date. Pete meanwhile tries to impress Matt with the comparison chart.

Mozilla switches to Yahoo for default search in US, duckduckgo search option and has 90% funding for last year from Google but does anyone really care what search engine Mozilla uses?

EP84 - Cats like watching you pee.

"Fook off and good riddance!" Yep Linux Outlaws or as we've always called them "The show that cannot be named" has finally given up pinching all our best ideas and announced they will be hanging up their microphones at the end of the year. Pete and Matt talk about how terrible their show was and how they was lucky LugRadio packed it in but also that they had absolutely nothing to do with throwing Pete and Matt together.

And it's still kicking off over at Debian as Joey Hess announces he's leaving the project which Matt seems to think is no major issue while Pete seems far too impressed with Joey's dial-up skills.

The FSF announce the launch of a copyleft site designed to be a focal point for information and guidance for those needing that type of license. Yet again Matt is not overly impressed and Pete thinks it's just some sort of Creative Commons clone.

Happy birthday to you, happy Birthday Firefox happy 10 years birthday.

Sub category of why.

This episode Pete and Matt talk about their new found admiration for Laura Cowen and we also hear how Pete was picked up by some strange Aussie bloke while out walking in Oxford.
As we keep telling everyone, our show is not just about Linux and with that in mind this episode kicks off with a discussion about a program on the television called The Apprentice which nobody will be surprised to learn is one of Pete's favourites. Having promised Corenominal AKA Sergeant Bilko that we would not cover systemd we decide, as per usual, to break our word and do the story anyway and cover Ian Jackson's tactical call for a GR (General Resolution) vote for Debian Jessie and how some of the Dev's are considering forking Debian. The highlight of this discussion is when Pete actually defends Mark Shuttleworth!

Have we become brand name (Google AKA Nexus) slaves? Pete tells us how he mentioned on G+ that he'd like a Tesco's Hudl 2 and was promptly shunned by the Google Nexus brigade.

OggCamp Roundup: Matt can't really tell us anything as he was hardly there! So Pete fills in with the "I'm only paying £15!" curry story, the Geeks giving two fingers bus story and not forgetting Matt and Pete reminiscing about the worst landlady in Britain.

No news is good news: So where's the news from Canonical? Matt and Pete discuss the tumble-weed blowing across the Ubuntu plains and Pete confesses he may have misjudged Jono Bacon's marketing skills.
What's in a name? Matt comes up with a far better name for the latest Ubuntu release: Voluptuos Veloceraptor but the team discuss the real fact that there's only four more names left!

And finally they have a new home now Matt needs money and donations of paint to tart the place up.

EP82 - Oggcamp 2014

So here it is our annual live recording at Oggcamp as tradition dictates it is released 'as is' (Although Keith has tweaked it a bit) this episode is especially for the swine's that went to listen to that Linux Voice drivel and missed what was far superior entertainment. Hopefully you'll enjoy Pete totally cocking up the opening, if only this was video you would see the look of shock and disbelief on Matt's face.

From Matt and Pete "Enjoy"

EP81 - I have not been to Oxford town.

We really wanted to open the show with David Bowie's I have not been to Oxford town, but we couldn't find any covers or versions that was Creative Commons. :-(

So this is just Matt and Pete chatting to be honest (No change there then?) we wanted to put something out for you to listen to while travelling to Oxford. Matt kicks off by telling us about his visit to BarCamp London and the quaint way they use bits of paper to offer talks. No CampFireManager there then? What's happening then? We look at the OggCamp schedule and decide that the only individual we know is the only person on the planet louder than Pete, Stuart Langridge
