Nous allons tous en vacances d'été.

So it's just a short message for this episode, things are happening at #tdtrs towers.

That's Why I Hate The Swiss.

This episode was nearly called "Two Sweaty Men II" as it was a very hot Sunday for a change. Pete and Matt seemed to struggle on this one a bit although as per usual with tdtrs the end result is far better than the team realised while recording it. Pete starts out by bitching about his stupid idea to upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 even though he swore blind in episode 28 he never would and the unusable pile of lard he ended up with!

Matt is totally mystified as to why Pete has put a story about Kodak's reactor into the warming up slot and then sucker punches him when he gets all excited about O.A.D with an amazing display of disinterest. Good friend of the show x1101 helps us bring back "I hate your blog" and "Room x1101" gets an outing too with Matt wanting to do away with Kickstarter with things getting slightly heated.

The team are dumfounded at the lack of feedback, but quality over quantity prevails as this episodes postbag produces probably the most interesting part of the show. Matt and Pete discuss the deletion of the tdtrs wikipedia page and Pete flies off into a rage and a readers email gives us this shows title.

Remote Notifier
http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.damazio.notifier&fdpage=6

This app allows you to send notifications over local wireless, the Internet
(via UPnP) and bluetooth. It even allows you to encrypt the information so
some other bastard can't read it! There's also a ton of options to customise
the notifications....basically just install it already and try it yourself!

WiFiKeyboard
http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=com.volosyukivan&fdpage=8

This app lets you control your phone via your computer keyboard. It works
pretty well, but someone needs to send the developer a patch because some of
the keyboard controls are shit!

Also if you want a good music player check out Vanilla Music, it's a no
bullshit music player which looks pretty nice (It follows the ICS design
guide) http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.kreed.vanilla&fdpage=8

The Journey From RatholeRadio 2012

So it's all over and the guys are on our way back. As they wave goodbye to Liverpool and RatholeRadio for another year the team discuss the last 24 hours and what they thought of the venue, their friends and the entertainment. Listen out for such gems as "The number 7 bus", the head, and Pete losing it just outside Stoke-on-Trent. "Cheers Dan, see you next year."

The Journey to Rathole Radio 2012

So it's the anniversary of The Dick Turpin Road Show and the boys are off to see Dan Lynch at Rathole Radio Live in Liverpool. It was on a day very much like this a year ago that these two idiots decided recording was dead easy and to preserve their mundane and frankly outrageous comments on Pete's totally inadequate Nokia N810. One year on and now fully paid up members of the podcasting community Matt and Pete once again go on their yearly pilgrimage to listen to music and chat with friends.

In keeping with our 'Road Show' tradition there has been very little editing done apart from replacing some of the long silences with Creative Commons music, if you don't like the background car noises don't bother complaining because we like it. As the title says this is "The journey to..." the "Journey From" will be released soon. :-)

The Cosmic Nobhead

The gruesome twosome are back together again as Pete rejoins the show. The team hold an inquest on the last episode and how Matt did a grand job sticking his finger in even though it was leaking out in places. Ubuntu's 12.04 release gets talked about but the guys are less than impressed not only with the actual release but the Ubuntu site falling over. Matt announces his intention to rekindle meetings for GLLUG (Greater London Lug) and talks about some of the issues of setting it up.

Pete tells us about the new ArchBang project leader in the section Archie (Woof, woof) but the guys are more impressed that their good friend Phil Newbourgh AKA corenominal gets a mention. Room x1101 gets another outing with the new G+ UI on offer for oblivion. As usual the team spend far too long on the feedback but hey, it is our favourite part.
